OK , put this review into perspective. We are in Philippines and cost of golf cannot be compared to overseas courses. Likewise the standard of the course is slightly below those high cost courses . Generally , this course is well maintained and quite challenging with the course cut into an undulating landscape of jungle.. It’s picturesque and a good mix of par 3’s - 4’s and par 5’s. I was interested to read the negative review . So I checked online to find all reviews by that person are negative.. so for some people the glass is always half empty.. sadSo, if you’re in Cagayan De Oro in Philippines this golf course is well worth a visit . Enjoy 🤗

I played a round there last month. The facility is above average. The food was great but it's not the food that I was after. The fairway is well maintain and above average. I didn't lost a ball until on the hole 13(?)- it's par 3 150 yards. My problem on this golf course is the green is too slow, I mean very slow. It feels like you are walking on a padded carpet. First time I played a round in the Philippines, so IDK how other places compare. Would I play there again? What's my choice? Another advise, don't rent a club there- they have antique one.I might add the driving range is below average.

Robert Trent Jones Jr. course on the foothills around Cagayan de Oro.The layout is good. Rolling, undulating fairways and interesting, challenging greens. Some memorable holes, like 13, a par 3 over a ravine, and 16, a short, drivable, but heavily bunkered par 4. Fairways are pretty wide but there are water hazards and doglegs for variety.Fairways have been overrun by native grass but that is not really a bad thing. I played it over summer and fairways were hard and occasionally brown. The club takes care of the greens. They were all pristine and rolled true. They looked like Zoysia.Bunkers needed more sand and tee boxes needed work. Those were my only nits on the course. No drink houses on either nine so you need to bring your own water.Clubhouse is old and needs sprucing up, but locker room is acceptably clean. Showers need replacing, though. The club does not seem to be awash in cash, but they prioritize the greens, which is good.I enjoyed my round and hope to play it when it's not so dry. I'm told it drains very well. Definitely worth a game if you are in CDO.
